About me: Hello! My name is Sterling, you know, like Sterling, VA, or sterling silver! Though I’m originally from Alabama, I moved to Tysons Corner, VA, in late 2016 and have been happy to call Virginia my home ever since. Before I was a Comm student, I attended Northern Virginia Community College, and transferred in last fall.
My time here at McIntire has proven to be an extremely rewarding experience. I’d say my favorite part so far is when I worked alongside my ICE group last semester to complete projects for our block’s corporate sponsor, CarMax. As a part of the experience, I even visited one of CarMax’s stores in Richmond to get an inside-glimpse into their operations!
Outside of the classroom, I’m involved with Madison House and serve as a Volunteer Income Tax Assistant through the CASH (Creating Assets, Savings & Hope) program. I’m also working to make Pride at McIntire an official CIO, and through this, create programming and events for the LGBTQIA+ community here at McIntire and UVA.
Fun Fact: Orange has always been my favorite color, so you can imagine how much I love UVA’s official colors!
