Jeannie Hirsch

Hometown: Rochester, NY

Concentrations: Finance and Accounting

About Me: Hi! My name is Jeannie, and I’m a fourth-year student at McIntire. I’m also pursuing a B.A. in Economics in the College of Arts & Sciences.

I try to balance my classes, career interests, and personal goals through a bunch of different organizations at McIntire and UVA. I joined the Alternative Investment Fund as a first-year, and have loved investing (and the club) ever since. I’ve also been involved in the Virginia Finance Institute and Sustainability Advocates. Besides being active in student organizations, I enjoy teaching students as a TA for Financial and Managerial Accounting. I also recently got involved with IM sports, and am this semester trying my hand at co-ed basketball (despite being only five feet tall)! In my free time, I enjoy running, baking, reading, and watching animated comedies like "Rick and Morty."

One of my favorite things about McIntire is the tight-knit and diverse community. After fall semester of my third-year, ICE left me with upwards of 40 new friends I look forward to passing in the McIntire hallways between classes! I also love the diversity of thought in such small classes—every day, I feel like I learn something new from someone or about someone else in the classroom.

Fun Fact: This past summer, I ran 100 miles across Charlottesville (cumulatively, not all at once).
