About me: As a third-year, I am new to the McIntire community, but I already love it! I believe McIntire’s unique emphasis on community and inclusion makes it a great place to learn and grow. Before McIntire, I grew up in a military family that taught me to lead by serving others and to be impactful with my time. These values have greatly influenced my time at UVA. Over the summer, I worked as a program coordinator intern at a nonprofit called The First Tee of Greater Richmond. I helped run the nonprofit's golf summer camps and organize different outreach events for kids in the Richmond community. The work was extremely rewarding, and I enjoyed being able to follow my love for golf. On Grounds, I am involved in the Madison House tutoring program. I help elementary school students develop their English skills by reading with them. Being able to see the students grow and learn over the year has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had while at UVA.
I am also involved in the online publication HerCampus on Grounds, for which I write articles for college women on a wide variety of current topics. I am also a mentor in the Latino peer mentoring program and really enjoyed being involved in the program and helping incoming Latinos make UVA their new home. Of course, I am also involved in McIntire as a student ambassador. I am very excited to continue exploring McIntire and getting to know my classmates!
