Hometown: Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Concentrations: Finance and Management (anticipated)
About me: The first thing I might tell you about myself when meeting for the first time is that I was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, Calif., a small suburb of Los Angeles. The second thing I might tell you about myself is no, I don’t surf, and I don’t really know any celebrities. If you’re still talking to me after that, I really appreciate it. I might start talking about my intended Finance and Management concentrations and how weird I feel about being a third-year who’s already past the halfway point in my undergraduate UVA career. Or, I might tell you about how I spent almost every Sunday from seventh through 12th grade dressing up as sea animals and reading stories to children at my local aquarium, and if you’re really unlucky, I might start inundating you with facts about the aquatic life of the Santa Monica Bay.
More recently, I might tell you about my work to provide financial aid to low-income members of the Charlottesville community through the student-run micro-lending organization the Community Honor Fund. Or I might talk about my involvement with McIntire through the Alternative Investment Fund, a student-run investment group, and Student Entrepreneurs for Economic Development, a group that consults for NGOs in Charlottesville and worldwide. The bottom line is, it’s tough to say exactly what I might talk about if you meet me, but having read this you probably don’t have to.
