Hometown: Potomac, Md.
About me: I was born and raised outside of Washington, D.C., in Potomac, Md. My favorite part about growing up outside of D.C. was definitely visiting the monuments at night (pro tip: It is way less crowded after 10 p.m.). A random fun fact about me is that I once played a game of capture the flag with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I was too young to realize it was the "Terminator," but I think we won!
At UVA, I have been a member of clubs inside and outside of McIntire. Inside McIntire, I am a member of the Women’s Business Forum. Outside, I was development chair for Alternative Spring Break, after a spring break trip to Guatemala my first year. In addition, I am a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, a former STAT 2120 learning assistant, and a waitress at a local restaurant, and I participated in the Meriwether Lewis fellowship this past summer. As a Meriwether Lewis Fellow, I worked with a cohort of third-years to learn from leaders at the University and to present a solution to a problem posed to us at the start of the summer.
Since starting at McIntire, I have loved the learning environment of ICE (Integrated Core Experience). Our faculty encourage us to participate and take risks in class, a safe and supportive environment. We also work in groups developing concrete business strategies for our corporate sponsor, allowing us to take what we learn in the classroom and apply it in real time to real-world challenges!
