Hometown: Mumbai, India
About Me: I am an international student from Mumbai, India, studying Finance at McIntire and Economics in the College. My decision to choose UVA was based largely on quality of student life and the multitude of opportunities. I am a big advocate of stepping out of one’s comfort zone and trying new activities. Some of my main involvements have been helping people in Charlottesville file tax returns, working on the finances of the Indian Student Association at UVA, being a research analyst on the investment board for Smart Woman Securities, as well as helping run a South Asian dance competition that was attended by teams from all over North America. As a resident adviser for first-year students at UVA, I enjoy meeting incoming students and being one of their first interactions at college! I’m so excited to meet prospective students and give them an insight to the McIntire experience. I truly believe McIntire provides many opportunities to explore one’s interest in the business world and outside by cultural and other events organized by the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and the Commerce Council. We are a COMMunity, and the group-oriented nature of work in smaller classrooms definitely builds us towards one. Each student has their own story and perspective, and you learn a lot from each other in addition to classroom learning.
