Melissa Anderson Morgan (M.S. in MIT ’09, Ed.D. in Education ’14) received her doctor of education degree from UVA’s Curry School of Education after defending her dissertation titled “Assessing School Technology Leadership Practices: Perceptions from 1-to-1 Schools in the Context of Continuous Improvement.” In the final year of her doctoral studies, Melissa joined Assistant Superintendent of Albemarle County Public Schools Matt Haas to present at the Superintendent’s Leadership Forum, in Fort Worth, Texas. Their workshop, titled “Expanding Our Horizons: A Systems Approach to Creating Stakeholder Value in the District’s Strategic Planning Process,” focused on engaging stakeholders in the planning process by structuring opportunities to collaboratively envision the future of student learning. The topic of the forum was Leading the Way with Continuous Improvement, and it included school district leaders from across the United States. Melissa’s research interests include educational technology leadership, strategic planning in education, and continuous improvement in education.

Justin McDougall ’09 and Jessica Clarke (A&S ’10) were married May 4, 2013, in West Chester, Pa. The couple resides in Philadelphia, where Mr. McDougall works in private equity at Morgan Stanley and Ms. McDougall works in wealth management at TIAA-CREF.

Dominic C. Law ’09 is the Co-Founder of social food app FeedMe, launching in Hong Kong and Asia. He is deferring from Harvard Business School after receiving seed funding from Harvard to work on FeedMe over the summer.

Jennifer Clifton ’08 (M.S. in Accounting ’09) and Samuel Leven (A&S ’07, Law ’10) were married May 16, 2010. The couple welcomed their first child, Noah Robert Leven, born Feb. 12, 2013. The couple resides in Fairfax, Va., where Ms. Clifton is an Accountant for KPMG and Mr. Leven is an Attorney with The Baldwin Law Firm.

The couple resides in Arlington, Va., where Mr. Martin is an Energy Industry Analyst at FERC and Ms. Alcorn is a Consultant at Deloitte. UVA alumni in the bridal party included Alysia Jina Alcorn Kennedy (McIntire ’03), Jessica Markey (A&S ’06), Kristine Detar (McIntire ’07, M.S. in Accounting ’08), Jing Fang (A&S ’07, Medicine ’11), Chris Lucas (A&S ’07), and Greg Kastner (A&S ’07).

Emily Lodge ’06 and Tim Pote were married Nov. 2, 2013, in Arlington, Va. The couple resides in Arlington, where Ms. Lodge works as a Conference Planner for a defense contractor and Mr. Pote is a Co-Founder of a tech start-up.
