Professor Oliver’s research explores the intersection of corporate governance and social evaluations. She focuses on the socio-cognitive mechanisms that shape strategic decision making and external perceptions of firms. She also explores how diversity influences these relationships in the upper echelons. She has published in Strategic Management Journal; Academy of Management Journal; and Journal of Management. Her research has been featured in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal and She is currently a member of the Academy of Management Review and Journal of Management editorial review board. For her dissertation, she received the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation Dissertation award.

Professor Oliver has taught International Strategic Management previously at the University of Georgia and Georgia State University, where she received several awards for her teaching. Before her academic career, she worked in corporate strategy in Germany and the United States.
