Professor Liang has expertise in financial reporting and information systems. His research uses archival methods to study (1) the effect of corporate laws and legal environment on financial reporting and (2) the intersection of accounting and information technology. Professor Liang has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting Information Systems and is currently teaching Data Management courses in the M.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Commerce programs.

Professor Liang has published his work in journals such as Journal of Accounting Research; The Accounting Review; Management Science; Journal of Management Information Systems, and Journal of Management Accounting Research. Before joining the McIntire School, Professor Liang was a faculty member at Temple University.
