Peter E. Engel

Peter Engel, Global Chairman Investment Banking, joined J.P. Morgan in its New York Headquarters in 1988 in the firm's Mergers and Acquisitions Department. In 1994, he was asked to lead the Corporate Office Staff for a one-year assignment as Executive Assistant to the Chairman and CEO.

Relocating to San Francisco in 1995, he helped lead the significant expansion of the firm’s Investment Banking practice in the Western Region. His current responsibilities include managing key client relationships, overseeing the firm’s overall business in the Western Region, and serving as a member of the North American Investment Banking Management Committee.

Engel currently serves as a Trustee on the Foundation Board of the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. His past board service includes The San Francisco Ballet, San Francisco Food Bank, Lick Wilmerding High School and  the Katherine Delmar Burke School.  A graduate of the University of Virginia, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems.
