Scott M. Kelley

Scott Kelley is the Founder and CEO of Aetos Capital Real Estate LP (“ACRE”) and Aetos Japan (“AJ”). Mr. Kelley has led all the ACRE funds and its separate account investments. He has been responsible for making more than 50 investments in Japan, China, and Korea, totaling more than $10 billion in asset value. ACRE directly and indirectly employs approximately 600 people in Japan and China. ACRE has sponsored four Opportunity Funds and numerous separate accounts focused on Asia, with over $3.6 billion of total equity commitments. ACRE’s investor base is broad, global, and largely institutional, including large domestic public and corporate pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments and foundations, family offices, high-net-worth individuals and Japanese domestic financial institutions. The ACRE investment program has been highly successful, particularly in Japan, which has accounted for over 80% of investment volume.

In addition, Mr. Kelley is an adviser to PTM Partners, a development firm focused on Qualified Opportunity Zones (“QOZ”) in the eastern United States and especially Florida. PTM Partners has two existing funds and over $2 billion of projects completed or under construction. Investment returns on all its developments have succeeded underwriting.

Mr. Kelley is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable, McIntire School of Commerce Advisory Board, Pension Real Estate Association, Urban Land Institute, and The Executive Committee of Greenprint Foundation, and is a former director of the National Multi-Family Housing Council and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts. Prior to launching the ACRE business in 2001, Mr. Kelley was at Morgan Stanley for 14 years, where he was a Managing Director and global head of the real estate investment banking business. He led a number of the most innovative and important real estate transactions globally and was responsible for all international client matters. He was also a member of the Investment Committees for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Fund (MSREF) I, II, and III and the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Special Situations Fund.

Mr. Kelley received a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and a Master's in Management with Distinction from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Mr. Kelley is involved with many philanthropic organizations; he sits on the board of the Partnership for After School Education (PASE) in New York City. Mr. Kelley was a Founding Board member of the Greenprint Foundation (now the ULI Greenprint Center) and member of the Board and Investment Committee of the McIntire School Foundation.
