Professor Elliott brings more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education administration, faculty and academic affairs, global education, student development, and organizational leadership. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development of academic programs, curriculum design, student support initiatives, global learning opportunities, and institutional improvement efforts. He has written and presented on topics including faculty development, leadership, identity, global learning, and higher education practice. Professor Elliott is the founder of several faculty affairs professional networks, including the Faculty Affairs Consortium in Virginia (FAC-VA) and the Faculty Affairs in Business Schools (FABS) Network. His contributions have earned national recognition, including the Dalton Institute Dissertation of the Year Award and NASPA’s Outstanding Innovation Award for the Men’s Leadership Project that he co-founded with the UVA Women’s Center.

Professor Elliott routinely teaches in the M.S. in Global Commerce program. He has taught courses related to global commerce, cross-cultural engagement, leadership, higher education, gender studies, and social innovation, and has enjoyed working with and mentoring students, faculty, and staff throughout his career. He currently serves as Assistant Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs at the McIntire School of Commerce, where he supports faculty development, faculty affairs operations, accreditation and program-ranking activities, academic compliance, institutional reporting, policy development, and governance processes. His work includes overseeing faculty systems, coordinating strategic planning initiatives, and helping improve data management and organizational effectiveness across the School. Prior to this role, he served as Assistant Dean for Global Affairs and Director of the Center for Global Commerce, where he worked with colleagues to expand international partnerships, strengthen global learning opportunities, and secured STEM designations for degree programs. Professor Elliott is a member and Past President of the Rotary Clubs of Charlottesville and Albemarle County.
