The conference will begin with President Ryan's Welcome and keynote remarks from Melody Barnes, Executive Director of the Karsh Institute of Democracy, in the Abbott Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Attendees should plan to arrive at 10 a.m. for coffee, networking, and to get settled.

The afternoon program features concurrent breakout sessions designed to allow each conference attendee to attend smaller presentations and conversations on topics most interesting to them. Our breakouts explore the nexus of cities and society through discussions on affordable housing, REITs, equity, the future of downtowns, technology, climate and ESG, and more.

The conference is hosted at the Abbott Center, Darden School of Business, located on North Grounds at the University of Virginia.  Map and directions to Darden can be found here.  Driving directions are here.

Limited guest parking is available on Friday, November 10, in the D10 parking garage at 130 Darden Blvd. Instructions to register your personal vehicle in the UVA parking system will be emailed to registered attendees 2-3 days before the conference. Your car and license plate must be registered in the guest system before arriving at Darden.

A complimentary shuttle will run from Central Grounds to Darden from 7:45 to 10:15 a.m. on Friday, November 10. The pick-up location is 190 McCormick Rd, in front of Peabody & Newcomb Halls. Parking is available nearby in the Central Grounds Parking Garage. The shuttle will run every 15-20 minutes, we encourage you to arrive early to afford time for transit and check-in at Darden. A return shuttle will run from Darden back to Central Grounds between 2 and 6 p.m. Parking at Darden is limited and requires advance registration with an access code. To ensure adequate parking at Darden for our alumni and guests, undergraduate students are strongly encouraged to use the provided shuttle. If you require parking at the conference venue for accessibility reasons, please email amandamorris@virginia.edu for information.

Closing Reception & ID required: Since alcohol will be served during the closing reception from 4:45 to 6 p.m., wristbands must be provided to all attendees during check-in and worn until you depart the conference. Undergraduates 21+ must present their ID at check-in to obtain a wristband.  All reception attendees should have their ID available upon request.
