Hometown: Wheaton, IL
About Me: I was born and raised in Wheaton, IL, a town about an hour outside of Chicago. I have been interested in business for a long time, and McIntire was a large influence towards my decision to attend UVA. I am concentrating in IT, with a track in business analytics, as well as completing an Economics minor in the College. I am especially interested in big data and its countless applications to the business world. Outside of McIntire, I am a Resident Adviser for first-year students and was part of the initial cohort for the Peer Financial Counseling Program. You can also routinely find me at UVA basketball games.
My favorite part of the Commerce experience has been the community that forms within your block. By having class with the same group of students every day, I have gotten to know my peers better than in any other of my previous classes, and have made some of my best friends. The professors also bring incredible stories and real-world experiences that complement their lectures. I have had engaging conversations outside of class with them, and they are a great resource to use during projects! While the coursework can be challenging, I have never regretted my decision to apply to McIntire, and I am excited for what the last year has in store.
