Language of Instruction

Language Courses
All students for whom English is not their primary language are encouraged to consider taking a class through the Center for American English Language and Culture (CAELC), which offers a number of courses in English as a second language (ESL), listed on the center's Web site.
 
Full-Time Workload
12-16 credits per semester
 
Exams
Exams are mostly written, but are sometimes conducted orally, or even take-home assignments. Projects may also be required.
 
Academic Expenses
Because the McIntire School accepts only exchange students, tuition fees are paid to the home university. Other expenses (books, room, board, personal) are estimated by UVA.
