Industry Engagement

Participation and engagement with industry is central to the mission of the Center for Business Analytics. In addition to incorporating real-world challenges and data into the McIntire analytics curriculum and case studies, CBA’s membership model provides our corporate partners with access to cutting-edge research outcomes as well as enhanced exposure to students and classroom opportunities. CBA also hosts and sponsors events that connect McIntire with members of the community and industry partners working on today’s most pressing issues in data and business analytics.

Business Analytics - Stories from the World of Work

Co-hosted by the McIntire School's Center for Business Analytics and Commerce Career Services, the Business Analytics event features a diverse group of alumni and industry leaders, ranging from recent alumni to C-suite executives and analytics thought leaders, who share insightful stories from their career journey to date, describe "a day in the life" at their workplace, and inspire students to study and pursue careers that embrace and center around business analytics.

The half-day program kicks off with a keynote discussion, followed by concurrent breakout panels, during which students gain insight into a variety of industries, organizations, and career opportunities across the field of business analytics. The event concludes with a networking reception and light refreshments, open only to speakers and registered students.

CBA anticipates hosting this annual event on the third Friday in September. Watch this space for more details and a registration link mid-summer 2023.
